The rich cascade of situations in the form of an audiovisual installation by Lunchmeat Studio is the unifying element of the whole exhibition. Five sub-plots; ironizing ballads from the environment of online calls are abstracted into a hyperbole with the tone of toxic positivity.
The multimedia intervention monumentalizes the experience through a multilayered visual and audio experience. The immersive work articulates itself through its own subject matter as well as through the intense permeation of the artefacts by the other artists.
The artistic vision, similarly to the other projects of the creative studio, relates to the transformations of society and miscellaneous socioeconomic influences. Through a thirty-channel sound composition based on the situational principle and partial commentaries on digital displays, they literally announce “the last call”.
Its creative point is to gradually motivate the visitors to participate in or collaborate on the essential topics of contemporary society. It accentuates the need for understanding the vulnerability of human existence and relationship to nature. The environmental appeal is dynamically evolving. The initial subtle ambiguities emerging as whispered sounds without a particular source gradually intensify into paradoxical or ironic exclamations mimicking the diction of online communication. The sound design of the club scene, the specific esthetic of the text messages on the displays and emojis amplify the urgency of the call for mutual collaboration – in the spirit of the EXPO – to shape the future society.
