The Government
I. agrees
- with the participation of the Czech Republic in the World Expo EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan (hereinafter referred to as “EXPO 2025”),
- with the conceptual design for the participation of the Czech Republic in EXPO 2025, prepared by Ing. Ondřej Soška, which is contained in Part III of document No. 739/22,
- with the increase in the systemisation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the years 2023–2026 by four positions in the Office of the General Commissioner according to Part II of document No. 739/22;
II. approves the budget for the participation of the Czech Republic in EXPO 2025 for the years 2023–2026, as stated in Part II of document No. 739/22, with the proviso that the chapter of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be increased by a total of CZK 290.2 million during this period;
III. instructs
- the Minister of Foreign Affairs
a) to notify the Government of Japan of the Czech Republic's intention to participate in EXPO 2025,
b) to submit to the Government, no later than 31 August 2022, a proposal for the appointment of the General Commissioner for the participation of the Czech Republic in EXPO 2025,
c) to inform the Government, no later than 30 November 2022 and subsequently every six months, on the progress of preparations for the participation of the Czech Republic in EXPO 2025,
- the Minister of Finance
1) in connection with point II of this resolution and according to Part II of document No. 739/22, to increase the expenditures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs chapter by CZK 67.5 million in 2023, by CZK 99.5 million in 2024, and by CZK 89.7 million in 2025 compared to the expenditures included in the medium-term outlook of the state budget of the Czech Republic for the years 2024 to 2025,
2) to include the financial provision for participation in the outlook of the state budget of the Czech Republic for 2026 in the amount of CZK 33.5 million,
- the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization and Minister for Regional Development, the Ministers of Industry and Trade, Education, Youth and Sports, Culture, Agriculture, and the Ministers for Science, Research and Innovation, the Environment and Defence to cooperate with the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the preparation and implementation of the Czech Republic's participation in EXPO 2025.

on the appointment of the General Commissioner for the participation of the Czech Republic in the World Expo EXPO 2025 in Osaka
The Government
I. takes note of the information that Mgr. Jiří Potužník resigned from the position of General Commissioner for the participation of the Czech Republic in EXPO 2020 as of 31 July 2022;
II. appoints Ing. Ondřej Soška as the General Commissioner for the participation of the Czech Republic in the World Expo EXPO 2025 in Osaka.
