RUDOLF JELÍNEK builds on over 400 years of tradition in fruit brandy production and is best known for its iconic plum brandy – slivovitz. Slivovitz has made the company famous far beyond the borders of Czechia.
www.rudolfjelinek.comR. JELÍNEK specializes in the production of alcoholic beverages, continuing a distilling tradition in the Wallachia region that dates back more than 400 years. The company itself was founded in 1894. Its flagship product is slivovitz, which undergoes a three-stage distillation process using fully ripened fermented plums, followed by further aging. In addition to slivovitz, the distillery also offers other fruit brandies, such as pear brandy (hruškovice) and apricot brandy (meruňkovice).
In 1934, Rudolf Jelínek began exporting kosher spirits to overseas markets, particularly the United States – a tradition the company proudly continues today. During the certified kosher production process, no materials, equipment, or techniques that would conflict with Jewish dietary laws are used. The entire process is overseen by a rabbi, a representative of the certification organization.
RUDOLF JELÍNEK is currently the largest plum grower in Czechia, managing almost200 hectares of orchards. The company revived its fruit-growing tradition in 2003, when it began planting its own plum trees. Since 2008, it has harvested nine different plum varieties, using them not only for its renowned Vizovice Slivovitz but also for traditional plum jam, dried plums, and even plum-based lemonade.
Thanks to our collaboration with Czechia’s participation at EXPO, we have a unique opportunity to introduce the rich tradition and exceptional quality of our spirits not only to visitors from around the world but especially to Japanese customers, who will now have the chance to get to know them better.

Visitors to the Czech National Pavilion have a unique opportunity to taste RUDOLF JELÍNEK fruit liqueurs at the rooftop CTP Lounge bar and in the Czech restaurant. The selection includes the iconic five-year-old kosher slivovitz, Slovácká Borovička (juniper brandy), Bohemia Apricot (apricot brandy), Cherry Liqueur, and the exclusive fifteen-year-old Family Reserve Plum Brandy.
The Czech tradition of alcohol production enjoys great international recognition, and RUDOLF JELÍNEK plays a significant role in upholding this reputation. The company has been exporting its kosher slivovitz for over 90 years, still produced according to the original recipe of the Jelínek brothers. Thanks to its dedication to tradition and quality, the brand has gained popularity also in Japan, where it is actively promoted by brand ambassador Takeshi Matsuzawa. EXPO 2025 presents a perfect opportunity to showcase to the world that Czechia is not just a land of beer but also a producer of world-class fruit brandies.
