About the Company

AGC Flat Glass Czech, based in Teplice, is the largest manufacturer of flat glass and its applications in Central and Eastern Europe, with a tradition spanning over 130 years. It serves as the Central European hub of AGC Glass Europe, headquartered in Belgium. The company develops, produces, processes, and supplies flat glass for the construction, automotive, and specialized industrial sectors. It is part of the global Japanese AGC Group (Asahi Glass Company), the world's largest flat glass manufacturer.

AGC offers a wide range of high-quality traditional and innovative glass products, including low-carbon glass, vacuum-insulated glass, double and triple glazing, safety and fire-resistant glass, eco-friendly mirrors, anti-reflective, lacquered, patterned, frosted glass, and many more.

The AGC Group prioritizes innovation and sustainability. Its products, such as AGC Low Carbon Glass and the AGC Recycle Glass service, are designed with ecological responsibility and maximum efficiency in mind. AGC Flat Glass Czech actively contributes to AGC’s goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030. A key initiative is the VOLTA hybrid glass furnace, launched in February 2025 at the AGC Barevka plant in Dubí near Teplice. This groundbreaking pilot project, developed in collaboration with Saint-Gobain and supported by the EU Innovation Fund, is the world's first of its kind. Its goal is to significantly reduce direct CO₂ emissions and promote the transition to sustainable flat glass production. The patterned glass production line operates with 50% electrification and 50% oxygen-gas combustion, utilizing a significantly higher percentage of recycled materials than the industry standard. The VOLTA project marks a milestone in the evolution of glassmaking as a traditional Czech craft while contributing globally to the decarbonization of the flat glass industry.

We shape the future of glass through innovative and accessible technologies, making the world a better place to live.

AGC at EXPO 2025

AGC is a key partner of the Czech National Pavilion, supplying its iconic glass façade. The glazing embodies the craftsmanship of Czech glassmakers from AGC Processing Teplice, Řetenice, and Barevka, along with the artist of Kolektiv Ateliers. Through a combination of modern industrial production and traditional glassmaking techniques, and in close collaboration with façade specialist Wieden, they have created a one-of-a-kind artistic glass installation, serving as the pavilion’s striking outdoor centerpiece.

The façade consists of 332 glass panels made of patterned, heat-treated safety glass with an artistic design, showcasing the fusion of art, craftsmanship, and advanced glass technology.
