www.krnap.czKrkonoše National Park protects a unique mosaic of mountain ecosystems – from deep forests and alpine meadows to glacial cirques. The park administration, based in Vrchlabí, is dedicated to preserving this exceptional natural environment while supporting sustainable regional development. With its rich history and active landscape conservation, the Krkonoše Mountains have become a symbol of balance between nature and human activity.
The wood used to build the Czech pavilion also comes also from the Krkonoše forests.
Robin Böhnisch, Director of Krkonoše National Park Administration
The Krkonoše National Park Administration is contributing to the Czech presence at EXPO 2025 by supplying wood for the construction of the Czech National Pavilion, alongside partners such as Czech State Forests and Military Forests and Estates of Czechia. This partnership highlights the importance of sustainable forest management and symbolizes the Czechia’s long-term commitment to environmental protection and the responsible use of natural resources. The forests of the Krkonoše Mountains are not only part of the Czech national heritage but also play a crucial role in combating climate change by storing carbon and retaining water in the landscape.
