www.jansociete.comJan Société represents a modern Czech approach to men's and genderless fashion, emphasizing minimalism, deconstructivism, and innovative techniques also influenced by Japanese aesthetics. Its founder, Jan Černý, is one of the most influential Czech designers with international outreach – having interned under the late Virgil Abloh at Louis Vuitton, led the creative direction of the heritage Czech brand Kara, and dressed numerous high-profile figures. His collection for Czech Olympians was ranked among the world’s top three by Time magazine in 2024, earning him the Czech Grand Design Award for both fashion and the overall category that same year.
Czech and Japanese cultures are intertwined – far beyond just fashion.
Jan Černý, Designer and Founder of Jan Société
Jan Société is the designer behind the official uniforms for all staff and management of the Czech National Pavilion at EXPO 2025. The collection is inspired by a dialogue between iconic Czech work overalls and Japanese workwear culture. This fusion results in a design that blends a strong Czech identity with Japanese aesthetics while also reflecting contemporary trends in sustainable and functional fashion.
The collection features a bomber jacket, shirt, T-shirt, trousers, and apron, complemented by a special edition of the legendary Czech sneaker Prestige x Jan and a scarf featuring René, the pavilion’s mascot. Different colors of the outfits help distinguish roles – light sand for hostesses and visitor guides, while blue is designated for the staff of the Czech restaurant.
Jan Société also showcases its brand at EXPO 2025 through a dedicated presentation inside the pavilion. Visitors will have the chance to purchase an exclusive, limited-edition collection designed specifically for this world exhibition in the gift shop.
