CZECH NATINONAL DAY
Czech National Day is the highlight of the cultural programme of the Czech Pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka. This festive day, taking place on 24 July 2025, will bring together Czech music, performing arts, and creativity in a unique show created especially for this occasion.
Program:
Official Ceremony — The formal opening of the day, attended by distinguished guests from both Czechia and Japan.
Musical & Circus Performance by the Czech Philharmonic and Cirk La Putyka — An extraordinary artistic project blending classical music with acrobatics. Featuring choreography by Rostislav Novák and musical arrangements conducted by Jan Kučera.
Czech Radio Children’s Choir — Young voices breathing fresh life into the Czech musical tradition.
Singer Aiko — Czechia’s representative at Eurovision 2024 and recent nominee for the Anděl Music Awards, presenting a modern take on Czech music and culture.
Exhibition dedicated to Alfons Mucha — A unique glimpse into the work of the world-famous Art Nouveau master, whose art continues to enjoy immense popularity in Japan.

Connecting tradition and innovation: The Czech Philharmonic, which has a long-standing tradition and loyal audience in Japan, will present a chamber programme celebrating Czech musical heritage in a completely new context. Its collaboration with Cirk La Putyka will bring an unexpected fusion of classical music and contemporary circus — a concept that has already captivated audiences at the Smetana’s Litomyšl festival.
Music, movement, and emotion — that’s what we want to bring to the stage in Osaka. This project is our way of saying thank you to the Japanese audience for their many years of support.
