On the occasion of the World EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan, an extraordinary gold jewellery set was created in the Granát Turnov workshops, symbolising the very best of Czech tradition, artistry, and craftsmanship.
The set captivates not only with its materials, including Czech garnet, moldavite, and diamond, but also with its sophisticated design that connects history with a modern expression. It also carries a cultural story that links Czechia and Japan, two countries that share a deep respect for detail, tradition, symbolism, and high-quality handcraftsmanship. For centuries, Czech garnet adorned monarchs and notable figures, and today it continues to carry the message of Czech artistry to the world.
The EXPO 2025 set consists of a necklace and earrings made of yellow gold with a purity of 585/1000. The dominant feature is, of course, the traditional deep red garnets.

Another piece of jewellery designed exclusively for EXPO 2025 is the Shamballa, a bracelet featuring a heart or a linden leaf in origami style. It embodies the harmony of East and West.
Granát Turnov as Part of the Cultural Programme
Granát Turnov is also taking part in the World Expo 2025 in Osaka as a supporter of the innovative artistic project Ballet of Tomorrow: The Symphony of Clouds. The performers’ costumes are adorned with newly designed jewellery from the Granát Turnov workshop, which audiences will be able to admire live for the very first time.
This multi-genre stage production combines the classical arts of ballet, opera, and piano music with modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, holographic projections, and virtual reality. Its world premiere took place at the Czech National Pavilion on 1 August 2025. A series of additional performances is being held at the same venue over the weekend of 2–3 August 2025.
The project was selected by a professional committee as part of the Czech Pavilion’s cultural open call and represents a unique fusion of traditional art and modern technology, bridging the cultural heritage of Czechia and Japan. Through this collaboration, Granát Turnov not only presents its jewellery craftsmanship but also actively contributes to international cultural exchange and innovation.
Founded in 1953, Granát Turnov is a cornerstone of Czech jewellery-making. It has earned its reputation through original garnet jewellery worn by global figures, from Madeleine Albright to the British Queen. Thanks to its combination of traditional handcraftsmanship and a modern approach, it remains a symbol of quality and beauty even after decades. Granát Turnov is a proud partner of Czechia’s participation at EXPO 2025.
