Leading European holding company with Czech roots Purposia Group will support the Czech participation at EXPO 2025. The cooperation agreement was signed on Wednesday 27 November 2024 in Prague by Jan Hasík, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Purposia Group, and Ondřej Soška, Commissioner General of the Czech participation at EXPO 2025. The Purposia investment group focuses on the entire life cycle of construction projects, from initial design and development through construction to management and maintenance of various real estate types. The holding is driven by innovative approaches to construction, which are not yet widespread in Czechia. Participation at the World EXPO can thus be a valuable inspiration and the next logical step in the development of the entire group.
Purposia Group is exceptional not only for its diverse range of services but also for its innovative approach to materials and sustainability. Naturally, this means that it addresses the issue of energy efficiency of buildings with respect to the environment. This is why many of the projects of its individual subsidiaries have been awarded sustainability certification at high levels.
"We are very pleased that Purposia Group is becoming part of the Czech participation at EXPO 2025 as an Official Partner. The construction of the pavilion is made of wood, and the companies from the holding do have experience in the use of this building material. Their approach to sustainable construction fits perfectly with our goal of presenting Czechia as a modern and ecologically minded country. Moreover, participation in this prestigious world exhibition will open a unique opportunity for Purposia Group to establish contacts with partners in the attractive Japanese market," says Ondřej Soška, Commissioner General of the Czech participation at EXPO 2025.
Although the holding company focuses mainly on building construction in the industrial sector, its portfolio also includes public, community and residential projects. Worth mentioning are, for example, the Hangar Bouldering Centre in Ostrava, a house of prayer in Sedlčany, a church in Neratovice or a home for the elderly in Dačice. The inspiration for innovative processes in the construction industry comes mainly from Western European countries, where it operates, among other places.
"Participation in activities related to the Czech representation at EXPO 2025 is a unique opportunity for companies from our group. It creates ideal conditions for establishing strategic collaborations with Japanese companies, and local universities focusing on IT and robotics, not only in the field of construction. In addition, the EXPO is a unique platform for sharing expertise and the latest global trends in the construction industry, including areas such as sustainability, digitalisation and advanced technologies. These collaborations can support the import of high-end know-how to Czechia, which will significantly enrich our projects and strengthen our position in foreign markets. We are interested in getting to know, for example, a company engaged in the production of aluminium glass structures or a company that focuses on the production of prefabricated reinforced concrete structures," says Jan Hasík, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Purposia Group.
The Purposia Group is now developing its activities in Austria, where HSF System, one of the Group's key companies, established a subsidiary in the autumn of this year. The Group's operations are also now moving to Slovenia, where it is starting construction of a facility at the LOGspot Logate logistics complex near Ljubljana. This project is a key step in the development of Slovenia's largest industrial zone outside the capital. It is also the first logistics facility in the country to be BREEAM certified at a higher level of sustainability. In addition to the countries mentioned above, Purposia Group also operates in Poland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Croatia and Denmark.
About Purposia Group Purposia Group is one of the leading European groups with Czech roots, which was established in 2023 as a holding structure bringing together HSF System construction companies in Czechia and Slovakia, and other companies mainly from the construction sector. The history of the companies that make up the Purposia Group holding dates back to 2002. Originally specialising in complete roof and facade cladding, they gradually expanded their activities to general building supplies. Today, the group focuses on the entire life cycle of construction projects - from the design and development through the actual construction to property management. The holding currently includes a total of 37 companies with an annual turnover of over CZK 4 billion. In addition to HSF System, which operates in Czechia, Slovakia and now also in Austria, the Purposia Group also includes companies from the ANTRACIT development group, SK Facility, Pruniwerk, floorING, Prefa ONV and Bezecný.
About Czech pavilion at EXPO 2025 In December 2022, after more than twenty years, the Office of the Czech Commissioner General announced an open anonymous architectural competition for the design of the national pavilion for EXPO 2025. A total of 38 teams entered the competition, from which an expert jury headed by world-renowned architect Eva Jiřičná selected the winning design in the shape of a glass spiral by Apropos Architects in March 2023. The load-bearing structure of the building will consist of modern wooden panels, while the façade will be made of art glass, which has a centuries-old tradition in Czechia. The National Pavilion will offer a worthy backdrop for the Czech participation in EXPO 2025, which will be held from April to October 2025 on the artificial island of Yumeshima in the Osaka Bay. The pavilion will house a permanent exhibition, a multifunctional auditorium, facilities for business meetings, a restaurant, a VIP lounge and a relaxation area in front of the pavilion with a view of the sea.
About Czech participation at EXPO 2025 Czechia as an independent state will participate in the World EXPO for the sixth time. Ondřej Soška, who won the tender of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic last spring with his concept and theme "Talent and Creativity for Life", has been the Commissioner General since September 2022. Czechia should present itself in Osaka not only with what the Japanese know very well and have long admired, such as Czech glass and classical music, but especially with Czech innovations, nanotechnologies, promising start-ups and regional talents.
